Area Recreation

Western Washington is one of the most spectacular regions in the world.  The mild climate and accessibility to water, mountains and parks make it ideal for enjoying a variety of outdoor activities at any time of the year.  Located on the northern end of the Kitsap Peninsula, Arborwood has no shortage of nearby recreation spots.

The Port of Kingston, Port of Poulsbo, Poulsbo Yacht Club Marina and Liberty Bay Marina are all just minutes away, as are the launching ramps in Kingston, Poulsbo and  Salsbury Point County Park near the Hood Canal Bridge.  There is also a kayak trail system that includes many of the nearby ports and a scuba park near the ferry dock on the Edmonds side. Adjacent to Arborwood is the 736 acre Heritage Park.  The park will offer both hiking trails and sporting fields.  The trails at Heritage Park are to be incorporated into the extensive North Kitsap Trails Association trail network making it possible to hike or bicycle from one end of North Kitsap to the other.  For those with an adventurous spirit, the Olympic National Rainforest is only 60 miles away.

For something a little more structured, North Kitsap Parks and Recreation offers both adult and youth classes and activities throughout the year.  Click here to see the City of Poulsbo Parks and Kingston Parks.
