Olympic Property Group has encouraged community involvement throughout Arborwood’s planning process. To this end, two open house events were held, with invitations mailed to all homeowners within a 3-mile radius.  Everyone was welcomed to share their comments with OPG. An invitation was extended to have the entire design team meet neighbors in their homes.  This enabled members of the community to see the design process first-hand and gave OPG the opportunity see and hear their concerns.

The first Arborwood open house event was held on the evening of October 11, 2006 at Kingston Junior High School.  Nearly 300 community members participated.  The agenda for this first meeting was to present existing site information, communicate Arborwood’s location, and invite the community to contribute their comments and suggestions. The entire Arborwood design team was present to discuss the project and note suggestions.

Eleven neighboring homeowners accepted Olympic Property Group’s offer to have the Arborwood design team come to speak with them in their homes.  Some visits were combined and seven meetings were held.

After the first open house and home visits all of the comments were sorted into a matrix. Before beginning Arborwood’s master plan, OPG shared the contents of the matrix with each of our experts.

On September 26, 2007, nearly one year after OPG’s first open house, a second open house was held where the first concept plan for Arborwood was shared with the community.
