Heritage Park

Careful to preserve the natural beauty of the area, OPG has allotted 736 acres adjacent to Arborwood for forested parkland and trails. OPG/Pope Resources originally owned approximately 1,100 acres, spanning from South Kingston Road westward to Miller Bay Road. In June of 2004, OPG sold 431 acres to Kitsap County for a new Heritage Park. Soon after, OPG granted the county an option to purchase an additional 371 acres to expand the park.

In order to address the growing need in our community for playing fields, there are sports fields planned for Heritage Park as well as forested parkland and trails.

Heritage Park will be easily accessible from Arborwood, Whitehorse, Kingston, Port Gamble, Suquamish, and Poulsbo.  The North Kitsap Trails Association trail system will utilize some of the paths through the park linking it with much of the Kitsap Peninsula through an extensive trail system.
